Advocate Guide

MI Health Link (MHL) is a new health care option for Michigan adults, age 21 or over, who are enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid. MHL will be available to these individuals if they are residents of the Upper Peninsula, Macomb or Wayne Counties, or eight counties in Southwest Michigan. Advocates and service providers for eligible individuals should be familiar with MHL and its range of services.

This Guide is intended to assist advocates in understanding MHL, including a description of the MHL program, covered services, eligibility and enrollment details, a detailed timeline, plan transition information, and appeal rights. We will be continuing to update the Guide as MHL is implemented and we have more information to share about how it works and challenges and opportunities for beneficiaries. We welcome feedback, questions, and  information about beneficiaries’ experiences in MHL. Please contact Dan Wojciak at with comments and suggestions.
