There is a lot of activity on all sides around the Congressional proposals to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act in the near future or the far future depending on who you listen to.
I have found some resources that can guide you in following the evolution of the various proposals and counter proposals, and I offer them below:
- This slide show is from a presentation to the National Governor’s Association about the proposal of the new HHS Secretary, Tom Price. It uses a fictional state to show Federal savings and State costs of that proposal.
- Reading The Fine Print: Do ACA Replacement Proposals Give States More Flexibility And Authority? This article covers the only real selling point of the current ACA replacement proposals.
- Study: ACA enrollees’ costs would spike under Republican plans. This overview article goes into some detail about costs, especially to people who remain on insurance plans after R&R. Long, but worthy of careful review.
I will use this blog to update the various activities that will be flowing like flood waters over the next months. Check back regularly.
